The Central Council of Kurds in Germany (ZKD) met on 6 July 2019 at the Yazidi community in Kalkar Northrhine-Westfalia (NRW). It is important for the ZKD to seek dialogue with all Yazidi communities in Germany and it endeavors to work up the common and sometimes painful history. The exchange was open, fruitful and constructive.

The ZKD thanks the Yazidi community in Kalkar and especially its chairman Mr. Osman Güden for the great hospitality and the long-standing commitment to the dialogue and understanding within the Kurdish-Yazidi community. Further meetings of this kind with the goal of strengthening and deepening cooperation will follow.

In addition, it was decided at the meeting to move the seat of the ZKD from Frankfurt am Main to Dusseldorf. This is related to the fact that the majority of the more than thirty member associations of the ZKD are located in NRW.
