A delegation of the Kurdish-European Society (KES) took part in the Kurdish Independence Festival on 26.08.2017. Tens of thousands had traveled from all over Europe to Cologne. Muslims, Christians, Ezidis and Jews from all parts of Kurdistan, as well as many friends of the Kurds from different countries, rejoiced the speakers and artists, and demanded that the world community finally recognize a Kurdish state. Never before had there been such a large, non-partisan Kurdish rally in Europe. On this day the participants had set aside their party interests and carried exclusively the Kurdish national flag, which is recognized in all parts of Kurdistan as well as internationally as a Kurdish national symbol.
