KES calls upon the EU (Commission, Council and Parliament) as well as the Member States to unequivocally recognise the Kurds as a separate group and accept them as equal partners in questions of integration and as part of the conflict solution in the Middle East. We do not want to be reduced to our countries of origin from which we have fled. We deliberately selected European countries as migrant countries to be recognized as Kurdish people.

The EU Progress Report on Turkey shows how fast the country has gone backwards. The country is evolving into an autocracy and even a dictatorship. This emerging dictatorship must be clearly addressed by EU heads of state and government, as well as the respective parliaments and sanctioned by all available means.

We as the KES consider ourselves as a mouthpiece of the Kurds in the EU. We want to express the hopes and wishes of our community in Europe. At the same time, however, we want to pass on the expectations of the policy makers to our community in the diaspora. Integration can only be achieved by exchanging and maintaining good relations. We as the KES advocate the integration into the European majority society.
