Dr. Abdul-Rahman-Ghassemlou Prize of the Kurdish-European Society

The Dr. Abdul-Rahman-Ghassemlou Prize of the Kurdish-European Society was established in 2016 to honor individuals or institutions that have made an outstanding contribution to the respect of human rights and/or the peaceful solution of the Kurdish question and/or to the successful integration of the Kurdish community in Europe.

Guideline of the Kurdish-European Society for the award of the prize, called Dr. Abdul- Rahman-Ghassemlou Prize

Basics:
The Kurdish-European advocates self-determination of Kurds, rule of law and democratic structures in Kurdistan, the peaceful solution to the Kurdish question and the successful integration of the Kurdish community in Europe.

Procedure:
Proposals to award the prize of the Kurdish-European Society can be submitted by:

  • Members of the Kurdish-European Society
  • The Board of Trustees of the Kurdish-European Society
  • The Board of the Kurdish-European Society

The proposals shall be communicated to the Board of the Kurdish-European Society. The Board reviews these and subsequently makes a proposal at the General Meeting for the award of the prize. The General Assembly takes the final decision under its statute and the Rules of Procedure of the General Assembly.

The prize may not be awarded to Board members or members of the Kurdish-European Society.
